DICE, with the help of other studies, is working hard on a new version of Battlefield 2042 and is giving us a small preview.
The rework of Battlefield 2042, which was announced some time ago, is progressing well and the developers are showing us what we can expect in the next updates.
After a chaotic start and desertion of the players, DICE was forced to review its copy from start to finish, and if you don’t rush, the first steps will come as season 1 comes out this summer.
Battlefield 2042 will finally become a real Battlefield
The first big change will come cards that will be completely reworked. The first to hand over the pool table is none other than Kaleidoscope, one of the worst current maps. Like many players, we criticized Battlefield 2042 in our test at the time for being too “clean”, especially becauselevel design that is too empty and artistic direction that is too refined.
Of course, feedback has been heard since then the developers decided to rewrite all the cardswhich offers them more details, more reliefs and also many more decorations, which finally bring a feeling of total war.
The kaleidoscope will be the first to have the right to make such changes. The park was completely redesigned, there were also many military buildings here and there, and thanks to several new textures and ruins, we finally have a feeling of permanent conflict. It was time. A second map, Renewal, was also provided and will be entitled to similar treatment later this year.
in addition the various points of interest of these maps have been modified to offer new dynamism and reduce the feeling of emptiness between the two combat zones. Reading the game will be better and the game will be much more aggressive. In addition, for the sake of clarity, DICE has returned to Breakthrough mode and reduced the number of players to 64.
But the cards won’t be the only ones the revamp has touched since then the operators will also be completely reworked. This will pass finer and “dirtier” modeling, more natural animations and new voicesin particular, change the points of the characters, who until now seemed completely out of place and taken out of the context of the game.
Unfortunately, recasting also means the end of the Hazard Zone regimesold at the time as the third major multiplayer piece in addition to classic multiplayer and Battlefield Portal. The Gambling Zone didn’t really work out, and no one seems to be playing there anymore. It must also be said that with less than 10,000 players in the game, it is difficult.
However, DICE promises that new game features and many more changes will arrive in the coming months.
Battlefield 2042 therefore intends to afford a second youth and definitely hopes to win back the hearts of the players. Developers must be under pressure because Modern Warfare 2 was formalized at the end of the year.
