Everyday life. Borrower's insurance, taxes… What changes from June 1

June reserves its part in the entry into force of new laws or measures, without forgetting a few deadlines that need not be missed.

Housing loan: simplified approach and reform of the borrower’s insurance

The good news is if you plan to take out a home loan: the Lemoine Act partially comes into force on Wednesday as it begins to apply to new contracts. In particular, it provides the possibility to terminate the debtor’s insurance at any time in order to take advantage of a more favorable competitive offer and / or better guarantees.

For contracts that are already in progress, borrowers will have to wait until 1 September for this measure.

In particular, the Lemoine Act completes a medical questionnaire for loans up to € 200,000 and simplifies access to mortgages for people who have suffered from cancer or hepatitis C. They will now be able to obtain credit on the same terms as other borrowers within five years of repayment.

PER and life insurance: greater transparency for comparison

Are you hesitant between the Pension Savings Plan (PER) and life insurance? Another good news: from June 1, each manufacturer must provide a table presenting costs according to the same categories so that subscribers can compare different offers.

Here, too, the entry into force of this measure is gradual, as it will still be necessary to wait until 1 July for the total cost per unit of account or assets.

Several dates are approaching

They had a few more days than their neighbors, but they would not be able to postpone the deadline much longer. Residents of Departments 55 (Meuse) to 976 (La Réunion) must check, or complete and certify their tax return for 2021 before June 8. It is too late for non-residents and residents of other departments, as well as the French, who opt for a paper statement.
