Oppo wants to occupy all the land. The Roland-Garros tennis tournament’s “official” brand also goes online with its Enco X2, the new Sweat-resistant True 100 headphones (100% wireless) for € 199. Many opponents are competing in this price segment, such as Samsung and its Galaxy Buds Pro, Sony and its LinkBuds S, but especially Apple, whose every manufacturer longs for the success of AirPods (3rd generation), which would occupy more than 50% of the market. our information. So Oppo remakes the game?
One year after its Enco X (listed at 179 euros), Oppo Updates its stellar headphones with especially increased autonomy and better noise reduction. But it was on the field of music listening that we wanted to play our sounds to test them in terms of conditions.
Pulled out of a pebble-shaped charging case with a lacquered surface (in black or white), the Enco X2 rediscovers the design of its older ones. With their little white stem inspired by cupertine, there is no doubt that AirPods from Apple is a benchmark that the Chinese brand should imitate! Nevertheless, this supplement allows for perfect maintenance of these in-ear headphones. They therefore fit into the ear canal and do not form at its entrance, unlike the so-called “headphones”. open cut “.
The Enco X2 is very comfortable to wear, stable and does not create discomfort, comes with three pairs of tips and can be used with the Oppo HeyMelody application. We appreciated that all its features are compatible with Android, but also iOS (which is not always the case, as with Huawei products). Therefore, we strongly recommend the use of HeyMelody, because this application allows you to actually optimize the sound reproduction of headphones according to the morphology of your ears, but also your ability to more or less hear certain frequencies. Thanks to the function called “Sound of gold”, the perfect settings of the headphones will be made, completely adapted to your listening!
Press to control
Easy to remember, the Enco X2 touch control is complete. They are performed by small gradual grips on the stopwatch of the headphones. It offers playback / pause, next or previous title, volume, but also activation of noise reduction or “Transparency” mode (to be aware of external noise in an urban environment). It is complete. Note that it is possible to adjust the assignment of these commands in the application by deciding which functions will be assigned to the pins performed on each handset.
The Ecco X2, tested for many hours in both quiet and noisy environments (such as public transport), met our expectations. We were especially surprised by the “meticulous” side of their sound reproduction when listening Unlimited love, new album Red Hot Chili Peppers. Besides, nothing like a new album Vision Drum Bertrand Belin to evaluate the (good) capacity of Enco X2 to restore voices in the media. And to push the Enco X2 to their limits, we subjected it to rhythmic bass die hard from Kendrick Lamar or Breakthrough Kerberos electric brass bands Meute.
General recognition: the sound is good, detailed, muscular, warm. However, observations: a slight tendency to increase the treble and the presence of some hissing sounds (hissing sounds, marked “S” at the highest frequencies). A minor glitch that we unfortunately could not compensate for through an application that does not have an equalizer, but only three presets (Real, Simple and clear and Punchy).
In addition to the natural passive isolation offered by the in-ear headphone format, the offered noise reduction is especially effective for the lowest sounds. In terms of autonomy, it is actually enhanced, with almost 5 hours of listening without noise reduction and up to 20 hours with gradual charging in the case. Almost twice as much as the Enco X… Good note: the Enco X2 is fully charged in sixty minutes and is compatible with wireless charging.
For 50 euros less
Upon arrival, you can fail these well-made headphones, which, however, remain relatively expensive compared to more aggressive competition and which do not deserve it. If you want to spend 50 euros a month, you can without headphones, you can play headphones for 149 euros, such as the excellent Elite Active 75t from Jabra, also compatible with sports use. Or even Marshall’s Mode II, which, if not sweat-resistant, will get a shock under the splashes and have a real equalizer.
