PRIME MACRON 2022. Exceptional purchasing power should triple by summer. What new amount? For whom ? What payment date? We carry out inventory.
[Mis à jour le 27 mai 2022 à 08h05] This is one of Emmanuel Macron’s main proposals since his presidential campaign: to triple the PEPA bonus. In other words, increase this exceptional and voluntary bonus from employers from € 1,000 to € 3,000. And in some very specific cases, up to 6,000 euros. In fact, Macron’s bonus in 2022 benefited 4 million French people for an average payment of 506 euros, which is quite far from the announced 1,000 euros. So will it be necessary to revise the conditions with this sharp increase this year? Everything remains to be done by the Borne government, which is a stone’s throw away from the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 12 and 19. Especially since the announcement of the Purchasing Power Act, which includes the Macron’s bonus, should be revealed after these elections, in the case of the majority gained TheREM. But what are the specifics of this Macron bonus? How are you paid? And who benefits from this?
Macron’s bonus should triple by summer! By switching from EUR 1 000 to EUR 3 000 and from EUR 2 000 to EUR 6 000 for a maximum of companies that have signed a profit – sharing agreement or companies with less than 50 employees. Exactly, employees, how can they claim this exceptional bonus? All employees whose salary is less than 3 times Smic pay! It’s so simple. And employers in all of this? Payment of the PEPA premium is entirely voluntary, with no obligation. This premium remains completely tax-exempt, whether on the part of the boss or the employee. It must therefore not be mentioned in his tax return, the deadline of which is fast approaching for millions of taxpayers.
From 2019, employees can receive an exceptional bonus, exempt from taxes and social security contributions called the “Macron bonus”. This exceptional purchasing power bonus (paid by any employer who wishes it to the employees under certain conditions. In particular, if the employee concerned does not exceed a certain income limit. This tax and social security scheme aims to encourage employers to pay bonuses to their employees in order to increase their purchasing power. This is not a state bonus, but a company bonus that remains optional and voluntary.
In order for the Macron bonus to be exempt from employee contributions, it must not exceed the amount € 1,000. Companies that have a profit sharing agreement can pay Macron a bonus up to € 2,000. This amount, doubled, also applies to companies with less than 50 employees and second-line employees (if revaluation measures are taken). This bonus could now triple if the LREM candidate is re-elected on 24 April, from € 1,000 to € 3,000. And up to 6,000 euros without fees and taxes for companies benefiting from profit-sharing agreements.
The exceptional purchasing power bonus is exempt from income tax and any social security contributions or contributions. But who is eligible for the Macron bonus? Employees earn less than 3 times Smic (within 12 months before payment). This Macron bonus does not replace any reward element. Already in 2021, the premium was extended JOSEPH is renewed for a year 2022. Please note that the employer is not obliged to pay Macron a bonus. If he wishes to pay, he has the option to do so onall its employeesor only to employees whose remuneration is less than 3 times Smic.
In 2022, the Macron bonus benefits both employees and apprentices, as well as temporary workers and public officials. The employer can fully modulate the amount of the PEPA bonus payment according to the beneficiary according to certain criteria, such as the employee’s remuneration, the employee’s grade, his working conditions in times of Covid crisis or still his working hours over a year.
The Macron bonus is paid out within the time limit set by law. In this case between June 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022. Whether you are a civil servant, an employee or an industrialist, you have the opportunity to benefit from it. With the draft law on purchasing power, the reform of Macron’s bonus, according to the latest words of government spokesman Olivia Grégoire, should be announced in the weeks following the parliamentary elections.
The amount of the exempt Macron bonus is limited to € 1,000. However, this amount can double and reach € 2,000 in the following cases:
- The company has signed a profit sharing agreement
- The company has less than 50 employees
- Second-line workers (if modernization measures are taken)
